Free On Sunday · Recovery & community

Recovery takes
community.

Nashville Recovery Run.
More than a finish line.

A 5K became a place to raise awareness, connect resources, and bring people together around recovery. Free On Sunday helped put the strategy and support behind the day into motion.

The event

Nashville Recovery Run
3rd annual 5K

The place

Nashville, Tennessee
Two Rivers Park

The purpose

Recovery awareness
Community support

Salvation for the need of the season.

One run.
A wider circle of support.

The need reached beyond race day: help a recovery community be seen, connect with the resources it needed, and carry its mission forward.

The Nashville Recovery Run brought people together around substance use awareness, recovery, and community support. The 5K created a shared reason to show up—for the run, for local organizations, and for one another.

Free On Sunday helped connect the resources behind the event, expand its exposure, support giving to Nashville recovery organizations, and create content the organization could use to keep its message moving.

Those were parts of one Salvation plan: understand the need, build the right connections, launch the work, and help sustain what comes next.

The opportunity

Make awareness
lead to connection.

A community event can put people, organizations, and resources in the same place.

For the Recovery Run, that meant helping connect what the 5K needed with people and partners willing to support it. It also meant creating more visibility for the organizations serving Nashville’s recovery community.

The purpose was practical: help people discover the work, give organizations more opportunities to connect, and turn shared attention into support for the mission.

Free On Sunday’s role was to support that plan through relationships, resources, coordination, and the tools needed to carry the story beyond the day.

The Salvation plan

Connect the need.
Bring the resources.

The plan shaped the work. Event resources, awareness, giving, and storytelling became ways to help the recovery community move its mission forward.

Resources for the 5K

We helped connect people, relationships, and practical resources around the needs of the run—bringing support together so the plan could become a real community experience.

Awareness that invites people in

The strategy included outreach and exposure to help more people discover the event and understand the purpose behind it: awareness of substance use challenges and support for recovery.

Giving connected to the mission

We helped support giving to substance use recovery organizations in Nashville, connecting generosity with the people and organizations doing the work.

A story that can keep working

Event content gave the organization material to share its message, introduce its work, and support future conversations with participants, partners, and people ready to give.

How the package came together

Strategy. Build.
Launch. Sustain.

Every Salvation package takes the shape of the need. For the Recovery Run, the work connected an event with a larger purpose and the resources to help make it happen.

Strategy

Start with the mission.

Understand what the event and recovery community needed: resources, visibility, meaningful connections, and support for the organizations involved.

Build

Bring support together.

Connect relationships, people, tools, and resources around a shared plan for the 5K and its community purpose.

Launch

Put the plan to work.

Support the event’s exposure, connect resources, and help turn willingness to give into support for local recovery organizations.

Sustain

Carry the story forward.

Create content and connections the organization could use after the run to continue raising awareness and growing support for its mission.

Beyond the finish line

A day together.
A purpose that continues.

The event ended. The need for connection, understanding, and resources continued.

The work behind the run shows how Salvation can help an organization act on its purpose: connect the right people, put resources behind the strategy, and create something the community can participate in.

For recovery organizations, that may mean a clearer plan, stronger relationships, help bringing an initiative to life, or tools to explain the mission and invite support. The starting point is always the need of the season.

For individuals and families looking for a connection, the starting point can be a conversation about what is needed and who may be able to help.

See the community in motion

More than a race.
A reason to show up.

A shared invitation to run, walk, connect, and support recovery.

The event’s Instagram outreach invited Nashville running clubs and the wider community to take part in the third annual 5K. The purpose reached beyond the course: celebrate recovery, raise awareness, and bring support around people seeking recovery treatment.

That invitation reflects the strategy behind the work. Meet people where they are, give them a way to participate, and help connect their willingness to show up with organizations serving the community.

The recap carries those moments forward—giving the organization another way to share the mission and invite people into what comes next.

A local mission.
A shared invitation.

The Nashville Recovery Run brought the community to Two Rivers Park around a shared purpose: recovery awareness and support.

The original sponsorship flyer invited people and organizations to help make the day possible. It is part of the story of a 5K built around recovery awareness and community support.

The invitation behind the work is still relevant: bring what you have—relationships, people, tools, resources, or generosity—and help connect it with a real need.

This is a recap of a past event. The flyer is shown as historical event artwork.
